Reliable Roofing Service in Santa Clarita, CA

Trusted Roofing Company in Santa Clarita CA

Homes in Santa Clarita face long periods of sun exposure, high summer temperatures, and seasonal winter rain that gradually wear down roofing systems. Many properties throughout Valencia, Canyon Country, and Saugus were built between the 1980s and early 2000s, meaning a large number of roofs are now approaching the end of their original service life. Underlayment deterioration, flashing fatigue, and aging shingles or tile systems are common issues in this market.

Shelter Roofing & Solar has been serving Southern California homeowners since 1978. As a second-generation, family-owned roofing company, we operate with structured systems and fully in-house crews to maintain consistent workmanship. We are certified by leading manufacturers such as CertainTeed and Owens Corning, and we stand behind our installations with strong workmanship warranty options. Our focus is not just replacing roofs but installing roofing systems that perform reliably for decades.

Roofing Systems We Install in Santa Clarita, CA

We provide a full range of roofing service options designed to match architectural style, budget, and long-term performance goals.

Asphalt Shingle Roofing

Architectural and premium asphalt shingles remain a practical option for many homeowners. When installed with proper ventilation and high-quality underlayment, shingle roofs commonly perform for 30 to 40 years in this climate. We install three-tab, architectural, and premium systems designed to meet Class A fire ratings.

Concrete Tile Roofing

Concrete tile is one of the most common roof types in Southern California. It offers durability, strong heat resistance, and long service life. While tile surfaces can last 40 years or more, the waterproofing beneath them often requires replacement sooner. Our team evaluates whether a tile reset or full replacement is the best solution.

Clay Tile Roofing

Clay tile provides similar longevity with a distinct architectural appearance. It performs well under prolonged sun exposure and supports long-term value in hillside communities.

Slate Roofing

Natural and synthetic slate roofing systems are typically selected for custom homes seeking extended durability. Natural slate can exceed 50 years when installed correctly, while synthetic slate offers a lighter alternative with comparable visual appeal.

Commercial Roofing

In addition to residential roofing service, we install and repair modified bitumen systems and roof coatings for commercial properties such as retail centers, warehouses, and multi-family buildings. Proper installation and maintenance protect commercial structures from costly water intrusion.

Santa Clarita Roofing Service FAQs

Choosing a roofing company often involves questions about cost, lifespan, and installation standards. Below are direct answers to common concerns.

A roof in Santa Clarita typically lasts 30 to 40 years when properly installed. Tile systems may exceed that at the surface level, while asphalt shingles depend heavily on ventilation and underlayment quality.

Tile roofing is often well suited for Santa Clarita homes due to heat resistance and fire rating performance. Architectural shingles remain a strong option for homeowners seeking lower upfront cost with reliable durability.

Roof replacement in Santa Clarita commonly ranges from $12,000 to $25,000 for asphalt shingles, while tile reset projects often fall between $15,000 and $25,000 depending on size and complexity.

We provide both residential and commercial roofing service. Our team installs shingle, tile, slate, and modified bitumen systems depending on property type and performance requirements.

I hired Shelter for a minor roof repair and then solar panel installation. The whole process was seamless and honest. Communication was excellent. They actually came back and told me that my roof repair was substantially less than what … More was originally quoted, so I ended up paying a lot less. And they helped coordinate the solar panel installation when I was not home. Overall I would choose them again without any hesitation!

Excellent experience. Communication was great and multi-channel / easy. Shelter installed a new roof, 14kW system, and two Franklin batteries. Everything is working great.

Well right before the holiday season and during a strong storm, we realized our roof had sprung a few leaks. So knowing that a big storm with winds up to 80mph was coming before Christmas, folks from Shelter Roofing came out before the … More storm and placed a tarp in the right zone. Those winds were so gusty that they tore the tarp and today, right before the next wave of storms are about to hit, they came back and replaced the tarp with another one. Now we can rest knowing that once they service all the homes ahead of us also needing roof repair our roof will also be fixed.
